Publication Process Policy

Journal of Educational Research and Practice (JERP) is committed to ensuring a transparent, rigorous, and efficient publication process. Authors are required to submit their manuscripts exclusively through the JERP online submission system available on the JERP’s website. All submissions must follow the JERP’s author guidelines, including formatting, referencing style, and ethical requirements. By submitting to JERP, authors must also confirm that their manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration by another journal.

Every submission undergoes an initial editorial screening to determine its alignment with the JERP’s aims and scope, as well as its compliance with submission requirements. At this stage, manuscripts are also checked for similarity using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin and/or Grammarly). Submissions that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to the authors for adjustment or declined without external review.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are processed through JERP’s double-blind peer review system, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Each manuscript is normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The reviewers assess the originality of the work, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, contribution to the field, and compliance with ethical standards. The review process typically requires 4-8 weeks, depending on the availability of reviewers and the complexity of the manuscript.

Following the completion of peer review, the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Associate Editor makes the editorial decision based on reviewers’ recommendations. The possible decisions include acceptance without revision, acceptance with minor revisions, a request for major revisions with resubmission, or rejection. Authors are notified of the editorial decision through the online system. In cases where revisions are required, authors are expected to submit the revised version within 2-4 weeks for minor revisions and within 4-6 for major revisions.

When submitting a revised manuscript, authors must include a detailed response letter explaining how each reviewer’s and editor’s comments have been addressed. Depending on the extent of the revisions, the manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation before a final decision is made.

Once a manuscript is accepted, it enters the copyediting stage, where it is professionally edited to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with the JERP’s style. Authors are then provided with page proofs and are responsible for reviewing them carefully before the article is finalized for publication.

Articles in JERP are published online on a rolling basis to ensure timely dissemination of scholarly work. Each article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and is made available in open access format. Published articles are archived and indexed in relevant academic databases to ensure their long-term accessibility and visibility.

JERP also maintains a set of post-publication policies. Authors may request corrections in cases where factual or typographical errors are identified after publication. In situations where serious ethical breaches are discovered, such as plagiarism or data fabrication, JERP reserves the right to issue corrections, publish expressions of concern, or retract articles in accordance with COPE guidelines.
